Para Sport Festival is coming to Newport, Swansea and Cardiff this July!

The Para Sport Festival comprises a mixture of Take Part events and Competitive events.

Outside of traditional mega-events, like the Paralympics, Deaflympics, Virtus Global Games or Special Olympic Games, this is the first event of its kind.

Take Part events are open to participants of all skill levels. These events are designed to make inclusive and para sport accessible to anyone.

Competitive events are showcases of elite level para sport. Cheer on some of the most talented para athletes from around the UK and abroad.

Boccia UK Teams and Pairs Championship

Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales
Competitive

Teams and Pairs Boccia returns to the Para Sport Festival, this time in a new venue at the iconic Geraint Thomas Velodrome in Newport. Athletes playing in teams or pairs will battle it out on court across two days of intense competition to take home the title of Para Sport Festival Teams and Pairs Boccia Champion.

Wheelchair Tennis: Wales v England All Stars

The Welsh wheelchair tennis team will play against an invitational team from England in singles and doubles matches across two days. Newport Tennis Centre will again play host to this annual fixture which will feature some players who are competing on the junior and adult international competition circuits.

insport Series events provide inclusive sport and physical activity opportunities for disabled your people and adults across Wales. insport Series: Swansea is the Take Part event of the 2025 Para Sport Festival, and will offer more than 20 different sports suitable for everyone.

Welsh Shooting - British Open Para Sport Championships

One day of official training followed by two days of competitions covering all the Paralympic airgun events plus events for the visually impaired. We are expecting competitors from across the UK in Swansea this year. With growing support from British Shooting this is fast becoming the ‘go to’ championships for disabled athletes throughout their Disability Hub Club network.

Deaf Football: Wales v England

Wheelchair Basketball: Cymru Classic

The Cymru Classic is an invitational Wheelchair Basketball competition showcasing the best talent from across the UK. Featuring top teams from the Premiership and Division 1, the action packed tournament will showcase some of the best athletes currently competing in the British Wheelchair Basketball National Leagues.

Table Tennis: BPTT Swansea Grand Prix

2025 sees the return of Para Table Tennis to the Para Sport Festival where they will share the stage with Para Shooting given spectators a unique opportunity to see 2 British level events under one roof.

British & Irish Para Badminton International

Sport Wales National Centre

The British & Irish Para Badminton International is the biggest para event Wales has ever hosted.

Our aim is simple: to welcome and showcase the finest Para Badminton athletes and officials, creating an outstanding experience for everyone involved, in order to inspire and grow our sport for years to come. We’re extremely excited to have this opportunity, which also features within the LA 2028 Paralympic cycle.

The British & Irish Para Badminton International 2025, is a Grade 2 / Level 1 tournament within the inaugural BWF Para Badminton World Circuit. This event is staged with the generous support of UK Sport, The Welsh Government, Sport Wales, Yonex & Disability Sport Wales. In collaboration with Badminton Ireland, Badminton Scotland and Badminton England.
